Torqbyte Stud Kit is ideal for situations requiring an electrical connection through a non-conductive (i.e. plastic) panel.

Unlike the usual Stainless steel stud kits, our stud kits are supplied with Aluminum hardware.

While looking and sounding good in theory, Stainless steel is actually a poor electrical conductor. As the current passes through it, a Stainless steel stud will cause a larger voltage drop than the equivalent aluminum stud. This means that less power is delivered to the load. Stainless steel is 26x more resistive (i.e. less conductive) than Aluminum.

Stainless vs. Aluminum Resistivity

Because of its poor electrical conductivity the Stainless steel studs also generate more heat and under certain load conditions can actually get hot enough to melt the panel material they are mounted in.

Each Torqbyte Stud Kit Includes:

1x Plastic Cap Nut, 10-32 Black
1x Plastic Cap Nut, 10-32 White
4x APM HEXSEAL SEELOC Washer #10
4x Aluminum Hex Nut, 10-32
2x Aluminum Threaded Rod, 10-32, 1-1/2" Long
4x Aluminum Nylon-Insert Locknut, 10-32
2x Ring Terminal, Yellow, 10-12AWG #10
4x Ring Terminal, Blue, 14-16AWG #10
